Micros are the newest BRCA class of radio control model car racing and caters for almost all off-road cars, buggies, stadium trucks and monster trucks from 1:16th to 1:18th scale.
Micro scale racing is a very cheap form of racing with the top drivers using the same cars as those who have never driven before, the only difference being experience and car set up. The cars are driven by all levels of drivers from youngsters who want to get into the RC scene, to top drivers who have made the jump from other classes to be involved in this new scene.
The attitude to racing is relaxed and fun, with drivers smiling as they come off the rostrum, even after a bad race, as they have had fun jumping an eight inch car six feet in the air, or driving on the wall on wall rides. Micro racing is nearly as much fun to watch as it is to race, so if you get the chance you will want to get behind the controls!
Though Micro racing is quite new, the interest is huge and most manufacturers produce cars or hop-ups for the most popular chassis, and their is a wealth of track side knowledge to help any newcomer set-up their car.
Their is a yearly national series over the winter months from October to March, which consists of seven events held around the country on different tracks, as well as the normal club scene.
